Classes are open for anyone 7 years old and older.
Your first class is free, €7 a class after that.
You should wear tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt for the first couple of sessions, you can buy a karate suit and belt after a few weeks of training.
Be at the hall 15 minutes early so you can talk to Sensei Phillip or Michael.

PHILIP McCARTHY- CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

Michael Wall (2nd Dan) began training in with the English Shotokan Karate Association (ESKA) at the Honbu Dojo (Stevenage) under the instruction of Sensei Michael Nursey (9th Dan) in 2012. Sensei Wall achieved his 1st Dan with ESKA in 2015. Upon his return to Ireland in 2015, Sensei Wall began training with SKIF Ireland under the instruction of Sensei Philip McCarthy (4th Dan) at the Moynalty Karate Club. Sensei Wall re-graded his 1st Dan and his 2nd Dan with Murakami Sensei (8th Dan, SKIF Chief Instructor). Sensei Wall is the Club Secretary for Moynalty Karate Club.

Philip McCarthy (5th Dan) began training in 1977 in Cabra, Dublin.

Sensei McCarthy has trained with many Masters including Enioda (10th Dan), Soke Kanazawa (10th Dan), Kancho Kanazawa (9th Dan) and Shihan Murakami (8th Dan).

Sensei McCarthy has won over 60 championships in Ireland. His major achievments include 2014 Euro's Dresdin Masters Kata Silver Medal, 2017 Euro's Czech Repulic Masters Kata Gold Medal, 2019 World Championships Czech Republic Masters Kata Gold and most recently Gold Masters Kata and Silver Masters Kumite at the 2022 SKIEF European Championship Holland
